meuf
meuf, pronounced muhf, is an informal term in French slang or verlan for ‘femme’ meaning, 'woman’.
The clothes we create are inspired by the naturality of la Sud de la France and made in the village of Salvador Da Mundo, Goa, out of handwoven, organic Indian textiles.
The clothes we create are inspired by the way a woman moves through the world.
We showcase traditional fabrics as not only ethnic treasures but also versatile, sustainable and high quality materials of an international level, that can be used for international designs. Here, textiles like khadi and mal mal continue beyond their expected roles and are placed in everyday silhouettes that move easily across geographies and cultures.
Effortless, simple, made for women and by women.
Femininity here is not decorative. It is practical, lived-in, and personal.

For Founder Anisya Sheth, meuf represents an amalgamation of identities in feeling not still a girl but not quite yet a woman; not from here but not from there; not too overthought to not be effortless, not too worldly to not be local and not too rigid to not still be feminine.
Anisya studied fashion in Paris, France, and spent several years learning, working & traveling within the European fashion system.
At age 22, she founded meuf on observing how Indian textiles were widely admired, yet narrowly positioned - valued for tradition and craft, but rarely imagined as everyday clothing.
Coming from India, where handwoven fabrics and local tailoring are part of daily life, this separation felt artificial. The idea for meuf grew from the belief that these materials could exist more freely and more globally.
She is equally drawn to ideas of femininity and effortlessness. To her, femininity is not ornamental or fixed, but practical and adaptable - expressed through comfort, movement, and choice.
